The origins of Mercury Arts can be found in the summer of 2020, when two of our founding developers got together and talked about the possibility of establishing a modding team for the WW2 FPS game, Post Scriptum. With an ambition to create an accurate WW2 Battle of Crete mod, the project soon became known as Chapter Mercury.

As an Official Third Party Partner, the team adopted the name Mercury Arts in late 2021 to formalise themselves as an entity, while the first phase of the Chapter, the map “Maleme” was released as Post Scriptum’s first ever Third Party content in January 2022. The popularity of this release and the skills and dedication shown by the Mercury Arts team to the project led Periscope Games to purchase the first phase of the Chapter with an additional expression of interest in the follow on phases of the project, already under development.
